DustBloc is a stable emulsion of bitumen in water, made with a number of special additives, which enables it to mix easily with all types of water, including hard, salty or dirty water available at site.

DustBloc has two important characteristics. Firstly, it can be diluted at ratios greater than 1:40 into water that allow it to soak into a surface (even rock hard haul roads) rather than sitting on top of the surface. Secondly, when the water evaporates taking the additives with it, the remaining bitumen will not mix with water again. This means the product does not wash back out and gradually builds up in the surface material.

This creates two effects. It binds the road together minimizing dust creation and when the surface is eventually broken up by traffic creating some dust, the particles are heavier and less likely to become airborne.

After a period of use, the frequency of DustBloc application or the amount of DustBloc used per application may be reduced.

There is no need for road closure when applying DustBloc. Roads are trafficable within minutes of application. As water use is decreased dramatically, roads are not constantly wet and slippery, which improves driver safety.

Roads treated with DustBloc are less impacted by rain, as the DustBloc consolidates road materials. Roads can rapidly be opened after light rain or flooding.

DustBloc is also effective for dust suppression of stockpiles, parking and handling areas and in regeneration zones, again without the need for specialised application equipment or procedures.

DustBloc is safe to handle, store and apply plus safe for the environment as it will not leach out from application areas.
